Madonna was booed as a concert in Bucharest, Romania for having Roma (or gypsies) on stage with her. The story claims the Roma suffer more humiliation and endure more discrimination than any other people group on the continent. How is this possible when people are still watching “Real Housewives of Atlanta” and “Rock of Love Bus”? Where is the sympathetic outrage for those viewers?

I find this story very hard to believe. For one thing, how can we know that the audience was booing the gypsies when Madonna was onstage with them wearing a satin, tuxedo-cut unitard?

Did anyone ever think that maybe the people booing her weren’t against the Roma? Maybe they were Malawian children she had rejected. David and Mercy aren’t the only African kids who want to live in a British estage with a maid and a butler.
